Shanghai Songjiang Group’s official website is pleased to present information on the successful commissioning of China Heavy Machinery Institute’s 75MN aluminum alloy extrusion press. Songjiang Group provides high-quality rubber expansion joints for numerous 125MN, 150MN, and 225MN aluminum alloy extrusion presses, copper extrusion presses, and stainless steel extrusion presses. These products, manufactured using N41 rubber from China Petroleum Kunlun Brand, have received acclaim for their durability, with a three-year warranty.

China Heavy Machinery Institute's 75MN Aluminum Alloy Extrusion Press Successfully Put into Production

Introduction to China Heavy Machinery Institute: China Heavy Machinery Institute Co., Ltd. was restructured from the former China Heavy Machinery Research Institute. Its predecessor, the First Mechanical Industry Ministry Heavy Machinery Research Institute, was established in 1956 (relocated to Xi’an in 1961 and renamed Xi’an Heavy Machinery Research Institute, abbreviated as Xi’an Heavy Institute, under the National Ministry of Mechanical Industry). It underwent a developmental journey from Beijing’s establishment, Shenyang’s foundation laying, to Xi’an’s entrepreneurial development. In 1999, Xi’an Heavy Institute was transformed into a technology-based enterprise as one of the first batch of converted research institutes, and was wholly incorporated into China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd. through asset transfer. On the occasion of the institute’s 50th anniversary in 2006, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce approved the establishment of China Heavy Machinery Research Institute on the basis of Xi’an Heavy Institute. In 2009, China Heavy Machinery Research Institute was restructured into China Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd., and in 2012, it was approved by the State Council to become China Heavy Machinery Research Institute Corporation. In 2018, it joined China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd., becoming China National Erzhong Group Co., Ltd., an innovative high-tech enterprise serving China’s metallurgy, heavy equipment manufacturing, and other industries.

In 2020, China Heavy Machinery Institute successfully conducted a hot trial for another 75MN aluminum alloy extrusion press supplied to Yingkou Zhongwang Aluminum Co., Ltd., directly entering continuous production.

This 75MN aluminum alloy extrusion press is the eighth extrusion press (out of 12, including 2 125MN and 10 75MN presses) commissioned by China Heavy Machinery Institute in collaboration with Yingkou Zhongwang. The equipment incorporates a series of advanced technologies, including finite element optimized design for key components such as front and rear beams, moving crossbeams, and main working cylinders of medium and large aluminum alloy extrusion presses. The press also features innovative technologies such as new fixed extrusion pads, quick-change extrusion rods and cylinders, adaptive positioning integrated control technology for loading mechanical arms, rapid and efficient car sealing treatment, high-pressure and high-flow rapid pressure relief technology, coordinated control of locking pressure for main working cylinders and extrusion cylinders, closed-loop control technology for pressure and speed during the extrusion process, and isothermal extrusion technology for industrial aluminum profiles, significantly reducing non-extrusion time and meeting various industrial aluminum profile processing requirements. The equipment is highly efficient, energy-saving, and stable in operation, providing essential support for the production of special high-performance industrial aluminum profiles urgently needed in fields such as rail transportation, aerospace, nuclear power, military, automotive, and power.

The Yingkou Zhongwang extrusion press project involves a large contract amount and a high number of equipment units, with stringent quality requirements. From the project’s inception, it has received strong support from leaders at all levels of China Heavy Machinery Institute. Project team members have fully demonstrated the corporate spirit of ‘tracing origins, pursuing innovation, esteeming morality, and achieving greatness’ of China Heavy Machinery Institute, adhering to the concept of customer supremacy and first-class quality, collaborating to overcome challenges such as tight project schedules, long durations, harsh winter conditions in the Northeast, and the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the installation and commissioning of the project have steadily progressed at all nodes. At present, the installation and commissioning work for the remaining four extrusion presses is progressing smoothly. Once all the equipment in the project is put into operation, it will significantly enhance the production capacity and intelligence level of the Yingkou Zhongwang extrusion production line, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation between China Heavy Machinery Institute and Zhongwang Group.
