On July 14, 2023, Shanghai Songjiang Vibration Absorber Group Nantong Co., Ltd. conducted quarterly fire drill training, aiming to raise awareness of fire safety and enable everyone to respond to emergencies quickly, effectively protecting their own safety.
Fire Drill: Enhancing Fire Safety Awareness and Response Procedures
A fire drill is conducted to raise people’s awareness of fire safety and further acquaint them with the procedures for handling fire incidents. It also aims to enhance coordination and cooperation during emergency situations, promoting mutual assistance and self-rescue during a fire, and clarifying the responsibilities of fire wardens and volunteer firefighters in the event of a fire.
- In the event of a fire outbreak, the security department deploys smoke detectors to the fire location, which triggers an alarm. Smoke grenades are also used for signaling. Upon receiving the alarm, the central control personnel immediately inform the customer relations manager in the front hall and engineering department personnel. They carry walkie-talkies, flashlights, fire emergency kits, fire extinguishers, etc., and rush to the fire alarm location. After confirming the fire situation, they promptly notify the fire control center via walkie-talkies and initiate the initial firefighting efforts.
- The on-duty personnel at the fire control center respond to the confirmed fire alarm by promptly notifying the main desk following established procedures. The main desk then informs all departments and leaders to organize firefighting efforts on-site.
- Firefighting Procedures
- Security Department: The on-duty personnel use walkie-talkies to inform the security guards and immediately report to the security department manager. The on-duty personnel instruct all staff members to prepare for evacuation and enter a state of readiness. Volunteer firefighters proceed to the fire scene through the fire escape routes, immediately connect hoses, cut off non-fire power sources, and start firefighting using hydrant water.
- Engineering Department: When the personnel on duty receive the alarm, they promptly notify the pump room, electrical distribution room, and gas turbine room. The relevant personnel stand by and the on-site engineering staff disconnect power in the fire-affected area.
- Evacuation ProceduresEvacuation is a challenging task, thus it should be carried out calmly and in an organized manner. All employees guide guests within their respective work areas and calmly and orderly evacuate them from the fire-safe exits to the safe zones outside the building. When the fire becomes uncontrollable, the designated on-site authority instructs dialing “119” for emergency assistance, and all employees enter a state of emergency evacuation. A security department member proceeds outside the building to welcome the arrival of the fire brigade’s fire engines. The security department opens all evacuation exits as per the evacuation plan.
