【Training】Method for Hydrostatic Testing Rubber Expansion Joints Using Blind Flanges

The detailed process is as follows:

Preparation: Ensure all necessary products, tools, blind flanges, fastening bolts, positioning bolts, positioning ear plates, hydraulic press, ruler, logbook, etc., are readily available.
Installing Blind Flanges: Install the blind flanges without air nozzles using bolts, ensuring even installation of positioning ear plates, and gradually tighten the bolts diagonally.
Filling with Water: Lay the product flat after installing the blind flange on one side and pour water into the inner diameter until full.
Installing Blind Flanges: Install the blind flanges with air nozzles using bolts, ensuring even installation of positioning ear plates, ensuring that the holes in both sides of the positioning ear plates are concentric, and gradually tighten the bolts diagonally.
Connecting Water Pipe: Secure the water inlet pipe to the air nozzle.
Installing Limiters: Stand the product upright and install the limit rods. If testing at 25kg, adjust the limit nut to the natural length of the product; if testing at 16kg, adjust the limit nut to the allowable elongation specified in the manual. Note: Double nuts must be used on both sides of the limiter.
Pressing: Slowly open the water inlet valve to apply pressure.
Pressure Maintenance: When the pressure reaches the test pressure, close the water inlet valve and maintain pressure for 30 minutes.
Drainage: Open the drainage valve slowly to release the internal water pressure of the product.
Removing Limiters: Remove the limit rods.
Removing Water Pipe: Disconnect the water pipe joint.
Removing Blind Flanges: Lay the product flat and remove the blind flange with air nozzle first.
Flushing: Clean the water from the inner diameter of the product.
Removing Blind Flanges: Remove the other blind flange.
Disassembly of Product: If it is a rubber expansion joint, dismantle the rubber tube body and flange, and store the dedicated test pressure flange.
Returning Tools: Return all tools to their original positions and handle the tested products accordingly. Learn from the illustrations:
